Bionics Kit

An interdisciplinary team of engineers, designers, computer scientists and biologists from the Bionic Learning Network, together with the didactics experts from Festo Didactic as an education provider, have developed Bionics4Education. The aim is to use bionic-inspired projects to inspire young people for the subject of MINT (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) and bionic work. The educational concept combines a practical learning kit (Bionics Kit) for practice- and solution-oriented learning and a digital learning environment.

The Bionics Kit offers students a fascinating opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of bionics and learn about project-based work inspired by nature. Bionics is the link between biology and technology, making the Bionics Kit a perfect addition to our integrative STEM education program.

Bionic Flower

The Bionic Flower is an experimental set inspired by the plant world.

It opens and closes its petals in response to external influences such as approach or light. These mechanisms are simulated using sensors and actuators and can be learned by students in a playful way in class.

The bio-inspired design transfers the principles of the plant world to technology using scientific and technical questions. This facilitates the teaching of curriculum topics inSTEM teachingrounded.
